Adding Spices in Smoothies Recipe 4

Did I switch things up a bit? This week I wanted to share a recipe that includes a spice with impressive benefits. TURMERIC! According to HealthLine, Turmeric may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence. Rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and cleansing properties…WOW! Sounds like an amazing mix of healthy goodness. Adding this Orange Delight smoothie in the morning is a great start to your day! Try it and let me know what you think in the comments.



Ingredients:

2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, or equal quantity peeled and pitted oranges

1 apple (unpeeled and pitted)

1 frozen banana

1 teaspoon turmeric

A pinch of pepper

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons almond butter

2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger

3 teaspoons chia seeds


Put all ingredients in a blender (or NutriBullet) for 30-60 seconds (blending until smooth and creamy). Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
