Adding Herbs & Spices in Smoothies

Writer: BeUtiful Thoughts by ZanaBeUtiful Thoughts by Zana

Hey there...Of course we all know that green smoothies are full of nutrient-loaded fruits and vegetables, but adding herbs and spices means your daily drinks will be working double-time. Herbs are flavorful, act as a natural filter for your body, and are oh-so-cleansing.

Green Spark Smoothie

For this week's smoothie, I'm adding wheatgrass powder. I use this herb because it's an excellent source of many different vitamins and minerals. It is especially high in vitamins A, C and E, as well as iron, magnesium, calcium and amino acids. See the ingredients for this smoothie below.

Ingredients:

2 apples (Red Delicious)

¼ banana

¾ cup vanilla coconut milk (yogurt alternative)

¼ pineapple

1 tsp or 1 shot of Wheatgrass juice or powder

Juice the apple and pineapple

Pour Juice into the blender along with the banana, yogurt and wheatgrass. Blend for 30 to 60 seconds or until smooth.

Enjoy!
